Last Catch Up Post!

As I was cleaning up my room yesterday, I found this crown and it made me smile so big. It's got a ton of memories attached to it. And what better to take a photo of, than something with a bunch of memories? :)

This Was Two Days Ago, Actually. :D

Okay, this actually happened two days ago. We were at home after a super hectic long day and decided to have a fire. I really love fires, so I tried to take a picture. I need a faster camera, but with the one I have, this was the best that I got. :)

Time To Man Up And Get Back To Work

So, I suppose it's time to face my shame. :) I haven't posted for 3 days, but I did take pictures for those three days. I knew eventually this day would come, but the great thing about everything, is there's always  chance to start over, if you want it and work for it enough. :) So, I'm recommitted!

I was cleaning out my room, which includes this pink box, when my legitimately crazy cat jumped in and sat down. Then of course, when I told her to get out, she layer down and did this. ^ She really is a nut. :D

Persistence, Ladies and Gentleman. Persistence.

Good gracious. What I had to go through to take this picture should never be required. :D I had to light about twenty matches, burn my hand and fingers a few times, watch my little flame go out a million times, and at the end of the first photo shoot, notice that there was a box of matches in the background. Seriously. Persistence. But, persistence does pay off! I think this is a very cool picture, even if it was a pain in the neck to take it. :D

Good Heavens, It's About Time!

I finally got out of the house today! :D After two weeks of being sick, (over freakin Christmas break...), and watching all of my friends party without me, I finally felt well enough to do something social! Also, school started today, that's where I went... Figures, right?
Well, coming home from school I watched as the sun slowly sank below the horizon. Turning the mountains beautifully pink and defined, the clouds a brilliant orange and yellow, and Utah lake a shimmering gold. Of course, when we stopped at a red light, I had to take a picture of it, even if the picture doesn't even begin to do it justice. :)
That sunset may just have been a little bit of compensation for the crappy Christmas vacation I got. Who knows. :)

Sometimes It's The Everyday Things

I went outside and spent twenty minutes trying to get the perfect picture for this post. Trying weird angles, looking for anything that might work... That was twenty minutes of trying and failing miserably. :D Eventually I went back inside, determining that whatever I had would have to do, because it was really cold. Well, then I went to get a drink of water, and surprise surprise, that's where I found the beauty. Right there in front of my eyes, where it's been the whole time. :) This, ^ is a cup. A glorious beautiful cup that just so happened to be perfect for my picture today. Something I would have otherwise overlooked, but because I was searching, I found it. :D Never underestimate the beauty of unsung things. :)

Opposites

The story behind this one almost makes the picture not quite so pathetic. Almost. :)
It was just barely dark outside, and I realized that I hadn't taken my picture yet. Very large "Oh crap!" moment right there. So I jumped up from the computer, grabbed my phone, and yelled,
"Guys! I need help! What can I take a picture of?"
Hehe. Well, my sister pointed out our fan, and how the lights are different and split down the middle. She said,
"You can take a picture of the fan and write about how there are opposites in all things."
And ladies and gentleman, that's how I discovered that my little sister is more profound than I am. :D
So, not the best picture, but at least I took one today, right? I have kept my New Years resolution. :D

I'm Begging You!

The story behind this picture is a pretty great one. I was sitting on our living room rug this morning, sipping a smoothie as usual, when my crazy dog Freckles came over and started giving me the puppy dog eyes. It felt like she was staring into my soul and ingraining every detail of my life into her mind. Also, her nose was literally almost touching my face. :D Well, I snapped this shot right after I told her,
"No. This smoothie's mine." (Taking a sip to emphasis, of course)
She immediately looked out the window with this expression. I think it's her attempt to make me feel bad. The silent treatment. How scary! :)

The Beginning of A Wonderful Year

First post of the year, first post of the 365 days, and the first post of many to come. Welcome to my blog! I have made a goal, (yes, a New Year's goal), to take a picture of my life, everyday, for 365 days. It's like a journal, just on steroids. :D I have serious issues with actually writing in a journal every day, so I settled for a smaller goal. Just a picture a day. Only one. I figure that shouldn't be too hard, because I really love photography. :)

I almost didn't take a picture today. It was close to evening, it was cold, and I'd been working all day.  I was pretty much done. But then I looked outside, and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking! Quite literally, actually. Well, I didn't take the time to bundle up, I just plunged out there in tennies, jeans, a short sleeve shirt, and a very thin scarf as a covering. Hey, when you see a chance you gotta take it, right? :) I had to stand on my toes to take this picture, my freezing toes, and take my arms out of the little shelter they had. I was chattering, my hands were shaking, I felt like I might become an Emmasickle, but I got the picture! I think it accurately captures the essence of this evening: clear, crisp, very cold, but captivatingly beautiful.
